SINTOMS Company started its business in 1992. The production of frets became the first and main activity of the company. Over the years, since its foundation, SINTOMS has been actively engaged in scientific, design and production work to create highly professional frets for various musical instruments. Today (January 2026), the company produces 5 fret lines of more than 500 models and supplies them to more than 70 countries around the world.
Obviously, such a colossal range of the highest quality professional frets made of various materials, began to attract a huge number of music luthiers, workshops and factories for the production of guitars and other fretted instruments, who became buyers and admirers of SINTOMS products. The name of SINTOMS Company was gaining popularity in various countries and essentially became an internationally recognized name (a globally known name) of the only company in the world producing professional frets.
This kind of situation was not very pleasant for the companies (competitors) producing frets. These companies began to copy the models of SINTOMS frets, their delivery and packaging options. This is especially true for newly-created companies that started producing frets later than SINTOMS.
Nearly every month, these companies write “spy” letters to SINTOMS, in which they try to fish out technical, technological and commercial issues related to the production and promotion of SINTOMS frets.
And then the day came when SINTOMS decided to brand its frets. It must be said that fret marking turned out to be not an easy task. The project took almost 18 months from idea to implementation. Since January 2026, SINTOMS has started producing frets with two marking options: a mark on the fret tang between the studs, and a mark on the fret tang at the studs site. Both marks have their advantages and disadvantages. And now SINTOMS is collecting customer reviews to make a final decision.
The mark represents a micro letter “S” from the SINTOMS Company logo, made in a triangular pyramid frame of the fret metal.
We hope that our customers will like the idea of marking and the way it is executed.
