Triangular frets

SINTOMS Ltd. has created a line of triangular frets that provide minimum contact area of instrument strings with a fret. Triangular shape of the fret crown eliminates any side tone and rustling caused by a string loose part rubbing against a fret crown, and that are especially well heard while recording sounds on the recording equipment.

SINTOMS Ltd. produces 2 types of triangular frets:

• sharp triangular frets – with a smaller fret crown radius,
• non-sharp triangular frets – with a larger fret crown radius.

Sharp triangular frets have a smaller instrument string contact area with a fret crown than non-sharp triangular frets. However the performance of glissando on the instrument with sharp triangular frets is more difficult than on the instrument with non-sharp triangular frets.
